Teens for Teens
Program Overview
Teens for Teens is an innovative and experiential human values education project where young people develop universal human values such as friendliness, compassion, love, happiness, and a sense of caring through practicing random acts of kindness.
As a result of the program, teens recognize the powerful impact of their kind words and actions on themselves and on others. Teens are encouraged to challenge themselves, expand beyond their boundaries, and deepen their experience of human values through service learning.
Service Learning
First, students identify a need in their school, organize and conduct a service project to address this need. Second, students expand their reach to the broader community by organizing a larger-scale service project.
Examples of Service Learning from Teens around the World!
A group of 400 high school students in Montreal participated in the Teens for Teens program and raised funds to purchase a much needed bicycle wheelchair for a classmate who had always wanted to ride a bike, but was unable to as he was a child living with disabilities. Inspired by the camaraderie and spirit of these students, local companies teamed together with the students by matching their funds raised.
